Sherri L. Schaefer
Interim President & CEO
Sherri has served on the WCU Board of Trustees since 1996. She has a BS degree in Marketing with a minor in Accounting from Maryville University, a MBA from Lindenwood University and has completed a Strategic Marketing Program at the University of Minnesota.
Sherri spent 26 years working for a promotional products supplier where she spent 19 years on the Operations side of the business and spent the last 7 years in their Marketing Department, serving as their Marketing Director for her last 4 years there. Sherri most recently spent the past 14 years working for the School District of Washington, MO where she served as the CTE (Career & Technical Education) Finance Specialist at Four Rivers Career Center in Washington.
Sherri has been an active member of St. Francis Br. 269 in Clover Bottom, MO since her childhood.
Matthew C. Bainbridge
Secretary-Treasurer
Matthew joined the WCU team in 2009. As the Secretary, he currently oversees the Compliance, Underwriting, New Business, Member Services, Claims and I.T. Departments.
Matthew has an MBA with a Specialization in management from Culver-Stockton College. Matthew also holds a dual-major Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems and Computer Information Systems.
Matthew’s insurance designations include FLMI, FFSI, ARA, and AIRC, covering insurance related topics including home office management, reinsurance and regulatory compliance. Matthew also holds Information Technology designations including CCNA and Cisco Certified Cybercops Associate which covers topics including security, networking, and intrusion detection and response.
Matthew leads a monthly Quincy Area IT Professionals luncheon and has previously served as the WCU Quincy Branch 1 Treasurer.
Matthew and his wife, Casie, reside in Quincy and have 3 young children.
Ryan P. Hulett
Regional Sales Director
Ryan joined the WCU team in 2015, although his relationship started over 25 years ago with the society as his late grandfather, Harold “Cookie” Hulett, was a long time producer for WCU. Ryan has been a member of Quincy Branch 1 since 1995.
Ryan has a Liberal Arts degree from Springfield College in Illinois. He also studied Communications & Marketing at Western Illinois University.
Along with being a licensed insurance producer, Ryan has been in Sales and upper management in the Wireless and Optical industries prior to joining WCU.
Ryan’s interests outside of work include coaching baseball and playing golf. Ryan and his wife, Tegan, reside in Quincy and have 2 children.
