Sherri L. Schaefer

Chairman of the Board
Clover Bottom, MO

Sherri has served on the WCU Board of Trustees since 1996. She has a BS degree in Marketing with a minor in Accounting from Maryville University, a MBA from Lindenwood University and has completed a Strategic Marketing Program at the University of Minnesota. Sherri spent 26 years working for a promotional products supplier where she spent 19 years on the operations side of the business and spent the last 7 years in their marketing department, serving as their Marketing Director for her last 4 years there. Sherri most recently spent the past 14 years working for the School District of Washington, MO, where she served as the CTE (Career & Technical Education) Finance Specialist at Four Rivers Career Center in Washington. Sherri has been an active member of St. Francis Branch 269 in Clover Bottom, MO since her childhood.


James R. Obert

Quincy, IL

Jim has served on the WCU Board of Trustees since 1992. He has an AS degree in Business from John Wood Community College and a BS degree in Business Management from Quincy University. He is currently the VP of Business Banking at First Bankers Trust Company, where he has worked for over 35 years. He has also worked as a radio broadcaster for over 34 years. Jim has been an active member of the Quincy Branch 1 since 1978.


August H. Boessen, III

Westphalia, MO

Augie has served on the WCU Board of Trustees since 1996. He studied Accounting at Nichols Career Center in Jefferson City, MO. He is currently a Core Furnace Operator at ABB Underground Distribution Transformers in Jefferson City, where he has worked for over 40 years. He has also worked on his family farm since 1972. He is active in the St. Joseph Branch 314, and has previously served as branch president and the Cole-Osage District president.


David P. Hutt

Maryville, IL

Dave has served on the WCU Board of Trustees since 1996, but served as a sales agent for 10 years prior to being elected. He has as an Associate degree in Business Management, and earned a Bachelor degree in Business Management & Marketing from SIU-Edwardsville. He has owned and operated Hutt Insurance Agency, Inc. for over 30 years, and is licensed to sell all lines of insurance. He is a member of the NFIB (National Federation of Independent Business), and has earned the FIC (Fraternal Insurance Counselor) and LUTCF (Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow) designations. He is currently the president of the St. Louis District and recording secretary for the St. Martin of Tours Branch 14/251.


Philip J. Hildebrand, Jr.

Mendon, IL

Phil has served on the WCU Board of Trustees since 2012. He earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Quincy University and later returned to QU to earn his MBA. He currently works as the VP of Finance & Administration at Quincy Recycle. He also worked in various managerial or accounting roles at Gardner Denver, Purina, and Moorman’s, Inc. He has previously served on the board of the Quincy Chamber of Commerce and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Adams County. Phil has been an active member of the Quincy Branch 1 since his childhood.


John R. Prangl

Chicago, IL

John has served on the WCU Board of Trustees since 2016. He earned a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Loyola University. He is currently the Director of Accounts Management for St. Patrick High School in Chicago. He has been an active member of the LaSalle Branch 15 for over 40 years, and currently serves as branch treasurer.


Michael A. Bickhaus

Quincy, IL

Michael has served on the WCU Board of Trustees since 2016. He earned a BA degree in Accounting at Quincy College, and a Law degree at the University of Missouri. He is currently a Managing Partner at Schmiedeskamp, Robertson, Neu & Mitchell, LLP and has practiced law since 1994. He has served on several local charitable boards, fundraisers, and organizations in the past and is a member of Quincy Branch 1.


Linda K. Moore

Quincy, IL

Linda has served on the WCU Board of Trustees since 2016. She earned an AS in Business Management from John Wood Community College and a BS in Business Administration from Quincy University. She also earned a Master of Sports Science in Sports Management from the US Sports Academy and a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Linda is currently the Quincy, IL City Treasurer and is an adjunct professor at QU. She has previously worked as the senior director for ESPN for 20 years, the Participant Services Manager for the X Games franchise, and worked for several higher education facilities. She has been a member of the Quincy Branch 1 since her childhood.


Robert J. Moore

Wildwood, MO

Bob joined the WCU Board of Trustees in 2020. He has earned a BA in English and Sociology from Illinois College, a Certificate in Hospital Administration from Trinity University in Texas, and studied Marketing Management at University of Illinois Springfield. He also has a Master of Science in Management from the University of St. Francis, and an MBA from Northcentral University in Arizona. He currently works as the CEO of Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, IL. He has worked as a healthcare executive for over 35 years, specializing in strategic planning, operational and financial management, turnaround strategies, marketing and communications. He has been a board member of several community organizations in Illinois, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Florida. Bob has been a member of the Quincy Branch 1 since childhood.


Blake J. Doane

Quincy, IL

Blake joined the WCU Board of Trustees in 2022. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from Illinois State University and became a fully credentialed actuary in August of 2022. He is currently an Associate Actuary at Reinsurance Group of America (RGA) working in the Non-Traditional Valuation department of the Global Valuation division. He previously worked for COUNTRY Financial in both modeling and product development roles.
