Metro East, IL
Our Metro East branch has been working hard supporting their local organizations! They hosted several breakfast fundraisers over the summer along with the Edwardsville Masonic Lodge to benefit the Madison County Historical Society, the Children’s Dyslexia Center, the Metro East Humane Society, and the Glen-Ed Pantry. They also held a food drive for the Caseyville Food Pantry and the Maryville Outreach Center and collected close to $500 worth of items! Keep up the hard work!
Villa Ridge, MO
It was a beautiful evening for the Open Air Dance at St. John the Baptist in Gildehaus, MO! Our Villa Ridge branch co-sponsored the food & beverage sales at the event and raised over $1,000! We are happy to provide a matching fund to the Friends of St. John’s to assist with school needs.
Quincy, IL
Our Quincy, IL branch sponsored a bake sale at St. Dominic School Curriculum Night. They raised over $700 and earned a matching fund for the Art Program. “Every canvas is a journey all its own.” – Helen Frankenthaler
Westphalia, MO
The Sacred Heart Picnic Quilt Auction in Rich Fountain, MO, is always a huge success! This year, they auctioned 46 quilts, with the top one selling for $4,300! They earned over $47,000 along with a matching fund from our Westphalia branch. We are proud to support this long-standing tradition, and each year I am amazed at how the people of this small town come together and turn their hobby of quilting into hard earned dollars for their Church. Way to go!!
Clover Bottom, MO
The weather was absolutely perfect for our Clover Bottom, MO branch’s annual Alzheimers BBQ & Car Cruise! In fact, they were so busy, they ran out of burgers!! Thanks to everyone who worked, helped, donated, or stopped by for some great food. They raised over $7,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association and earned a matching fund. Great job!
Washington, MO
Every year, members of our Franklin-Warren District help out at the Washington Town & Country Fair by working the concession stand! The money they raise goes towards providing Tuition Assistance Awards to their members. Thanks to all who volunteered and everyone that stopped by for a cold drink and donated to support Catholic Education in the area!
Wadena, IA
Our newest branch in Northeast Iowa recently sponsored a raffle to benefit Wadena Cemeteries. This beautiful handmade 51 inch Black Ash Table was donated for the cause. They sold 200 tickets and raised $2,500 including a matching fund! This branch has been hard at work all year supporting their local communities! Thanks to all who sold and purchased tickets.
St. Louis, MO
Our St. Louis branch recently made a donation to Feed My People in their area. We are proud to support their mission to help the helpless and make the world better together!
Washington, MO
Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Washington, MO organized a rummage sale and raised over $6,000! Pictured is WCU President, Sherri Schaefer presenting a matching fund check to the hard-working ladies that made the event a huge success.
Apple Creek, MO
Our Apple Creek, MO Branch held a breakfast at St. Maurus Parish to help raise money for a new furnace at the Parish Hall. They always have a beautiful quilt to raffle, which always draws a big crowd! They raised over $8,000 at this event. Great job and thanks to everyone who supports the church.
Linn, MO
Spring and Summer is the perfect time for a rummage sale! St. George Church in Linn did just that and raised over $4,000 and earned a matching fund from their local WCU branch. What a great way for parishioners to get rid of some unwanted items while also supporting the Parish.
Krakow, MO
June always kicks off the start of Church Picnic season in the Mid-West! St. Gertrude Parish in Washington, MO celebrated Summer with food, live music, beverages, games, a country store, quilt raffles and even a kickball tournament! Fun was had by all!
Quincy, IL
This year, the Heart Check for Tim event raised over $14,000 to benefit families of children with heart disease and the Timothy Haley Scholarship Fund. We are proud to support a great family and cause with a matching fund. Thanks to Quincy Medical Group cardiac department for volunteering their time to provide free heart screenings to high school students!
Metro East, IL
Our East St. Louis area Branch hosted a Trivia Night & Silent Auction at Life Church in Swansea, IL to benefit Kids for Christ. This program focuses on bringing the gospel to K-8 aged children by providing free after school programs at 78 locations and they’ve been doing it for over 30 years! The event was a huge success with over 200 attendees and they raised over $10,000! Way to go!
Union, MO
The Daughters of Isabella in Union, MO are always having a great time with their fun events. They held a Blacklight Bingo Bash where they turned down the lights and turned up the glow with their neon daubers and attire! We are happy to support this great organization!
Clover Bottom, MO
Branch President Chris Lause, with the help of some young branch members, presented a matching fund check from their Super Bowl raffle to the St. Vincent dePaul Society of St. Gertrude/St. Ann Church in Washington, MO.
Villa Ridge, MO
One of this branch’s favorite activities is co-sponsoring the bake sale at St. John the Baptist – Gildehaus annual Chicken Dinner. WCU member Mary Louise “Puddin” Hellmann baked 30 of her famous pies that sold for $30 each! Pictured is Branch Secretary Karen Simily with some of the baked goods.
St. Louis District
The St. Louis District presented a matching fund check to St. Vincent de Paul of St. Stephen Church. They held a fund, food and clothing drive and raised $1,264.00. Pictured are Branch members Dave Hutt and Sandy Wessels presenting the check.
Chicago, IL
Every year in December, our Chicago Branch hosts a cookie exchange to raise funds for a local charity. In 2024, they raised over $600. Those must have been some delicious cookies! Pictured is Branch President Phil Ference presenting the matching fund check to St. Cyprian Food Pantry.
Apple Creek, MO
Our Apple Creek branch co-sponsored a matching fund for the Old Appleton Brush Hawks. The Brush Hawks used these funds to help with their Christmas food baskets for needy families. Here are a few branch officers loading their truck to help deliver some of the food baskets.
Villa Ridge, MO
St. John the Baptist School – Gildehaus held a dartball tournament that was co-sponsored by our Villa Ridge, MO Branch. Along with our matching fund, they raised close to $4,000 for school upgrades and building projects. Way to go!
Quincy, IL
It was perfect soup weather for our Quincy Branch’s Soup Day! They served up chili or chicken noodle soup with a sandwich and dessert to raise money for the Ladies of Charity that help those in need of clothing, food and household items. Thanks to all who attended and supported this great cause.
Linn, MO
St. Mary’s School in Frankenstein, MO held their annual 5K Run/Walk. They had a great turnout along with great weather and raised over $16,000! They also earned a matching fund from our Linn, MO Branch.
Jefferson City, MO
Pictured is a Tootsie Roll Drive and Bake Sale held at St. Thomas Parish in St. Thomas, MO that was co-sponsored by the Jefferson City WCU Branch. They raised over $2,000 with our matching fund to help children with developmental disabilities. Way to go!
Clover Bottom, MO

Sainte Genevieve, MO
The VFW Post 2210 held a dance and live auction fundraiser to support the restoration and maintenance of the WW1 Cannon that has been displayed on Memorial Hill for almost a century. They raised over $10,000! We are proud to be able to support our communities coming together to ensure that this important landmark can continue to be enjoyed by future generations.
Quincy, IL
Our Quincy Branch held their annual picnic and also presented the Haley family with their matching fund check for the Heart Check for Tim event. It was a beautiful summer evening full of great food, shaved ice and bingo! Thanks to all who attended!
Westphalia, MO
In the summer of 2024, tragedy struck 2 families in the small town of Westphalia, MO. This close-knit community came together to help their neighbors in their time of need. Our Westphalia branch co-sponsored a lemonade stand/bake sale and they raised over $6,500!
Union, MO
Our Union branch sponsors the children’s games each year at the Immaculate Conception Parish Picnic. Their last picnic had a fantastic turnout of over 1200 people along with great weather. The children’s games raised over $2,500! We love to see the youth in our communities having fun and staying engaged!
Krakow, MO
Our Krakow branch held their pin celebration in 2024 to honor their long time members. Pins and gifts were given out to members for 70, 60, 50, 40, 25, or 10 years of membership! They enjoyed breakfast and also celebrated Easter along with the pin recipients and their families.
Northeast Iowa
WCU Agent Dennis Litterer helped to organize a turkey shoot to benefit Immaculate Conception Church in North Washington, IA.
