Benefits of Membership
One of the primary purposes of Western Catholic Union is to provide affordable life insurance protection for members and their families. You do not have to be a member to purchase our products, but the purchase of protection will automatically make you a member of our Society at no extra cost to you. Western Catholic Union has three types of life insurance protection for their members: permanent life insurance, a single premium life insurance, and term insurance for children up to age 18. Each year, the cost of a new life insurance product would increase, so you want to purchase as soon as you can, and while you remain in good health. With permanent insurance, premiums begin higher than term would, but you save money in the long run, and this will make future planning easier with a predictable level cost.
WCU Scholarships
WCU is proud to provide our members with scholarship opportunities.
The High School Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship that is available to Catholic High School students who are members of the Western Catholic Union. The student must be enrolled in a Catholic High School in grades 9-12 for the upcoming school year. Applications must be received by April 1st.
The applicant must also provide 1 educational letter of reference and submit an essay of 250 words or less answering the question “Why is it important to you to attend a Catholic High School?” to be considered for the scholarship.
Catholic High School Scholarship Application 2026-2027 School Year
The Grade School Grant is a $500 grant that is available to students that are a member of the Western Catholic Union. The student must be enrolled in a Catholic Grade School in grades K-8 for the upcoming school year. Entry forms must be received by April 1st.
Grade School Grant Application 2026-2027 School Year
The Catholic University Scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship that is available to students that are a member of the Western Catholic Union. The student must be enrolled in a Catholic University. Recipients will be selected based on a completed application, formal essay, and the unique value they bring to their campus.
This is a renewable scholarship for each year they are enrolled.
New Applicants will be able to apply for the 2027-2028 School Year.

Script Save Discount Drug Card
All WCU members are eligible to use the ScriptSave Discount Drug Program. The ScriptSave Card provides substantial savings for your entire household on all brand name and generic prescription drugs. There are no age or income restructions, and you can use your card as many times as you want. It even provides discounts for pet medications! The card is provided at no cost to you, with absolutely no ongoing or monthly fees.
Savings average 36%, with potential savings of up to 75% (based on 2012 national program sasvings data). All prescription drugs are eligible for savings.
